Hi guys & Girls.
Here's my review of the new Zidoo x1
I got My Zidoo x1 from [URL="http://www.geekbuying.com/item/ZIDOO-X1-Android-4-4-TV-
Box-Allwinner-H3-Dual-Core-Mali-400-1G-8G-802-11-b-g-n-LAN-HDMI-4K-2K-H-265-KODI---
Silver-346647.html"]Geekbuying[/URL] via DHL with £4.46 custom fees,Thanks to geekbuying & Cammy for providing me this box to review.
The Zidoo is based on the low-cost Allwinner H3 SoC, with quad core ARM Cortex-A7 CPU and
Mali-400 @600mhz GPU.
This device was not made for games in mind & it will struggle to play fast packed games ect
saying that iv played beach buggy blitz using a tronsmart mars G01 controller & the game
played fine with the graphic's set to high, You may not get the best performance in latest games
though, The Zidoo Alwinner H3 does say it will decode H.265 and H.264 up to 4K@30 fps (we
shall see).
The X1 has 1GB DDR3 RAM and 8GB of Nand storage only about 4Gb is left for the user
thought so it seems the rest has been taken up by the OS (extendable storage up to 32GB via
SD card) and has 1 HDMI 1.4 output, 2 USB 2.0 ports, ethernet (10/100) LAN and AV output.
Internal photos
Remote control is not too bad at all for an IR remote, I realy like that you can program some
shortcut buttons & you can program it to do some basic tv functions ie tv on & off vol up &
down (its just a shame it was not an air mouse too) i think every tv box should come with a air
mouse as standered.
Looks & feel,It does look quite smart looking & i would say that is was child friendly.i could tip a
glass of water over it with out a worry of it breaking. But getting to the back ports can be a pain
in the ass Example to insert a sd card i have to first remove the power lead then remove my
mouse dongle now i can slot my sd card in.
A nice simple home screen & zidoo launcher
Wifi The zidoo picks up my Wifi network with out any problem (4bars) but it will not pick up any
nauburing networks like my other tv box's do.I have read that zidoo are looking into the wifi
strenth so watch this space on that.
Antutu
After a hour or so of use of streaming movies the Zidoo x1 seems cool to the touch on the top of the device but the bottom of the box does get quite hot (No lock up's or freezes yet though)
