Tronsmart R68 Meta Review
The New Tronsmart Orion R68 is based on Rockchip RK3368 processor octa-core ARM Cortex-A53 64-bit, frequency of 1.5GHz and GPU PowerVR G6110
Tronsmart boast's its able to play video in 4K and 60fps, with support for hardware decoding with H.265 codec.
The installed operating system is Android 5.1 Lollipop, which will be updated in time via OTA.
I got my R68 Meta from Geekbuying Which arrived very fast as normal via DHL
There is two different model's to choose from
R68 Orion Pro

The R68 i have is from the first batch of 500 & is 10/100 Lan,The next batch will have 1GB Ethernet
It comes with support for hardware decoding with H.265 codec
The first thing i noticed when i opened the box was how light the R68 was
My R68 came unrooted & was a bit tricky to root but i got there in the end using iroot
It has 3 full sized USB ports 2 on the side & one on the rear, 1 micro OTG port,Full sized sd card slot ,SPDIF ,Ethernet ,HDMI OUT & the power port
Power Button on the rear (Big Mistake) This should be on the front of the device IMO.A long press or the power botton on the R68 will bring up a menu of two options power off & reboot
The R68 Does come with a IR remote which does the job ok but an air mouse would of been better
The R68 comes with Android Lollipop which runs & looks great, The UI is nice looking with a modern feel to it with no stupid launchers installed,It also has the bottom status bar that can be hidden with the click of a button
Wifi
The R68 has dual-band WIFI & is strong picking up my network no problem
Ethernet
Kodi comes preinstalled but no addons so it will need setting up
Iv been testing video playback on the R68 & overall its not that bad, most video's play fine but i did get a few slight stutters,the video & audio are sometimes out of sync but that can be fixed with the audio offset in kodi
Gaming On the R68 is Awesome they load very fast indeed & the game play is perfect
I tested a few fast packed racing games like Asphalt 8,Beach buggy blitz & Real Racing 3
All games played fault less using my PS3 gamepad with the sisaxis app

Samsung none powered 1TB hard drive works
128gb USB stick works
Tronsmart Mars G01 Game pad works
